Meet Jeff

KVUE Sports Director. Former high school teacher

Jeff Jones joined KVUE in the summer of 2019. He’s the station’s Sports Director, and hosts the show Friday Football Fever during the high school football season.

Jeff has won multiple awards in the broadcast industry, and has covered Final Fours, NBA Finals, bowl games, etc in his decade-plus, in the field.

Before joining the team at KVUE, Jeff spent time as a sports broadcaster in San Antonio, TX and Raleigh, NC. He also spent four years as a high school teacher (communication applications) in San Antonio, before pursuing a career in journalism.

Jeff’s Masters degree in teaching allowed him to develop a curriculum that draws on educational philosophies from Hilda Taba, John Dewey, and others, while adding his own practical examples and experiences from the current sports broadcasting landscape.

Jeff and his wife Keri have two children, Jocelyn and Kaleb. When Jeff isn’t covering sports for work, he enjoys working out, cooking, and enjoying games “as a fan” with his family.
